Mia's nature Journal

Mia has recently begun to keep a scrap book, nature journal, her drawings of all the wildlife we see on our walks.  She likes me to write what the names of what she drawn and then she copies the letters underneath.  She recognises so many letters and words now and loves to write her own name.  Tarka recognises lots of letters too, they often look at books together and point out the letters that they know.
This is Mia's woodpecker drawing.  We see the woodpecker most days on our bird feeders.
This is her hopping frogs and tadpoles drawing after our walk this morning.  The tadpole bit is wishful thinking right now as we still have a pond full of frog spawn without a hatched tadpole in sight....
Mia made these pine cone hedgehogs after our walk today too.

  1. I'm looking forward to starting nature dairies with the boys; Mia's froggies look lovely. We still have frogspawn too, no tadpoles yet! xx

  2. What treasures Mia's drawings are. Their nature journals are great fun and I am envious you have a woodpecker visiting your feeder.
