Yesterday we had a visitor
Tarka put his the core of his pear down next to him and he climbed on and began feeding on the juice.
In this photo you can really see how he feeds...
Mia, Tarka and Willow were fascinated by him and Mia went indoors to find one of our identification guides..... Bombus Lapidarius...Commonly known as the Red Tailed Bumble Bee.
We went out for a walk in the woods and when we got back he had obviously regained enough energy to fly off home.
How lovely that they gathered around & helped the little chap, rather than ran away. That's the way to raise a generation that will keep the bees safe! xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a special visitor. It is so good to see all the insects busy doing their thing!
